In 2006, the landscape of You Tube and the Internet in general was much different than it is today. In particular, there were very few websites that were offering free Jiu Jitsu technique videos. In fact, DVDs and VHS was still the primary way most Jiu Jitsu students could learn other "moves" outside of their respective academies. That all changed when Submissions 101 went live at the end of 2006.
We are back and ready to change the landscape once again. Having sat idle for the past several years but still with a video library of over 600 videos and 56 million views, Submissions 101 is really to bring the old school feel to a new school time.
Ari, the founder of Submssions 101, started the You Tube Channel in hopes to get people interested in Jiu Jitsu (in all its forms and styles). Today, Ari is a 2nd degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Keith Owen (RIP) and Master Pedro Sauer and a 5th Degree Black Belt in Goshin Jiu Jitsu (Japense JIu Jitsu) under Soke Steve Hiscoe. Ari continues to train today and has run his Jiu Jitsu academy for the past 20 years.
We will be offering new videos and even some Retro Merch!
Train Safe. Have fun!
